Find the frames worth stacking.
StarSift is a desktop app for astrophotographers. It measures the stars in every light frame of a session and sets aside the trailed, soft and clouded ones, so only the good frames go into your stack.
What it checks
Trailing and mount jumps, soft or bloated stars, passing cloud and haze, a bright sky and low altitude. Each frame is compared with the others from the same night, target and filter.
What it reads
FITS and XISF from mono and colour astronomy cameras, and RAW files from Canon, Nikon and Pentax cameras, plus DNG.
Where it runs
On your own computer: Windows, Linux and macOS on Apple silicon. Your frames are never uploaded and never deleted. Rejected frames are moved to a folder for you to check.
